Anthony’s professional entry into entertainment was not through the stage or the spotlight, but through the financial, business, and structural engine behind the industry.
Before moving into artist development, label leadership, and large-scale entertainment ventures, he built his early foundation working within the business affairs side of entertainment, gaining firsthand exposure to how careers, brands, intellectual property, and long-term value are built behind the scenes.
Early in his career, Anthony worked in the financial and business management side of entertainment, contributing to the business affairs environment surrounding globally recognized figures including:

Artist Development, Career Strategy & Major Label Leadership
The Trawick Company
Anthony later stepped into a more direct role in artist development, management, and growth strategy through The Trawick Company, where he contributed to the shaping and career development of artists including Brian McKnight and Robin Thicke.
That period helped sharpen Anthony’s reputation as an executive who understood not only talent and creativity, but how to build sustainable commercial opportunity around artists and entertainment brands.
VP of A&R — RCA/BMG Records, New York City
Anthony's blend of business sophistication and creative instinct propelled him into the executive ranks of the music industry, where he rose to become Vice President of Artist & Repertoire (A&R) at RCA/BMG Records in New York City. In that role, he was responsible for talent scouting, signing, artist development, production oversight, team leadership, and major project execution.

From USA to Africa:
A Turning Point & A Defining Mission
In 1997, Anthony’s first extended exposure to South Africa marked a major turning point in his career.
What began as an opportunity within entertainment quickly became something deeper: a recognition that Africa represented not only extraordinary cultural energy, but a chance to help build platforms, infrastructure, relationships, and long-term opportunity at scale.
Rather than simply operate from the outside, Anthony chose to build from within, a decision that would shape the next phase of his work across entertainment, youth development, and cross-market opportunity on the continent.
This decision to invest deeply in Africa, not as an outsider but as a builder, became the foundation for some of the most significant chapters of Anthony’s career, from landmark productions to youth empowerment and cross-market opportunity at scale.
Disney's The Lion King South Africa: A Landmark Entertainment Venture
One of the defining chapters of Anthony's career came through his collaboration with Lebo M, which led to the founding of Till Dawn Entertainment and one of the most important cultural productions in South African entertainment history: Disney's The Lion King South Africa. As Executive Creative Director, General Manager, and part of the founding leadership and execution team behind the venture, Anthony played a ke role in helping bring the production to life.
Securing The Walt Disney Company
Helped secure and negotiate with The Walt Disney Company to bring the theatrical production to South Africa.
R50 Million Telkom SA Sponsorship
Negotiated a landmark R50 million sponsorship with Telkom SA, one of the most significant entertainment sponsorship deals in South African history.
The Lyric Theatre at Montecasino
Helped facilitate the creation and building of the Lyric Theatre at Montecasino, which became the permanent home of the production.
750,000+ Tickets Sold
The show sold more than 750,000 tickets, breaking box office records and firmly establishing itself as a landmark moment in African live entertainment.
Anthony's involvement extended beyond the stage itself. He also contributed to the broader media and cultural ecosystem around the production, including the SABC 2 television series Maropeng: The Spirit of the Lion King, the The Lion King Opening Extravaganza television production, and the live cast recording associated with the South African run. Together, these projects positioned the production not simply as a theatre success, but as a broader cultural event with national and international significance.
Sony Music Africa, Television & Pan-African Entertainment
Anthony’s entertainment footprint across Africa continued to grow through both music and television.
As Executive Head of Department at Sony Music Africa’s Day 1 Entertainment division, he worked across artist management, sponsorship, branding, bookings, and growth strategy — including artist-focused and cross-market opportunities involving Toya Delazy, Anselmo Ralph, and Sony-linked partnerships across Southern Africa and Angola.
His entertainment work also extended into television and talent platforms, most notably as an on-air judge for Coca-Cola PopStars in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania — helping shape talent-facing entertainment activity across multiple African markets.
These experiences deepened Anthony’s ability to operate across recorded music, television, talent discovery, sponsorship, and audience-facing entertainment ecosystems at a continental level.

Through his ventures and platforms, he has helped bridge artists, brands, audiences, sponsors, and cultural moments through live events, tours, activations, and entertainment-led campaigns.
Across this work, Anthony has contributed to entertainment-led experiences connected to names such as Dave Chappelle, Busiswa, R. Kelly, Trey Songz, James Ingram, Johnny Gill, Lady Zamar, and others, while also supporting projects involving major brands including Samsung, Unitel, MTN, MTV Base, AB InBev/Corona, Reebok, Edcon, Nestlé, and Nando’s.
One of the clearest examples of Anthony’s ability to operate at the intersection of entertainment, brand strategy, and commercial execution was the Samsung x Anselmo Ralph x Unitel Angola collaboration — a culturally resonant campaign that helped drive the sale of approximately 600,000 devices in Angola.
